La Commune de Steinfort, en collaboration avec Aktikulti a.s.b.l., a le plaisir d’annoncer le lancement de la 6e édition du concours de sculpture.

Lieu:

La sculpture sera placée dans la zone d’activités de la région Ouest à Grass. Le site de Grass est situé sur le territoire de la commune de Steinfort à proximité de la frontière belge.

Sujet, matériel:

L’œuvre devra s’intégrer dans le contexte historique, culturel et naturel du village de Grass.

L’œuvre devra être placée à l’extérieur et résister durablement aux intempéries.

Budget:

Un budget de 30.000€ sera mis à disposition du gagnant du concours par la Commune de Steinfort. Ce budget sera à gérer par l’artiste et comprendra les frais de réalisation et le matériel y compris le socle et la fixation. Les frais de transport resteront à charge de l’artiste.

La somme sera payée en 2 tranches:

• 50% au début des travaux
• 50% lors de la finition des travaux

La Commune de Steinfort soutiendra l’artiste pour la mise en place de l’œuvre, en mettant à sa disposition la main d’œuvre de ses services techniques.

L’artiste s’engage à respecter le contrat ainsi que les délais établis entre la Commune de Steinfort et lui-même.

Forme du projet de l’artiste:

Tout artiste participant à ce concours devra présenter un dossier avec :

• les plans détaillés de l’œuvre et de son emplacement
• les données précises sur sa fixation au sol
• les dimensions de l’oeuvre et les matériaux utilisés (socle/fondation)
• un plan projet (esquisse) de l’oeuvre au format DIN A1
• les besoins éventuels pour la construction (électricité, eau)
• une maquette de l’oeuvre

Le dossier et la maquette sont à remettre au Centre culturel Al Schmelz jusqu’au 20.4.2023

Les artistes doivent reprendre leurs maquettes à la fin de l'exposition des projets.

Tout renvoi éventuel sera à charge et sous l’entière responsabilité de l’artiste. Les frais de renvoi sont à payer à l’avance.

Jury et présentation du projet:

Tous les projets seront exposés le 22 et le 23 avril 2023 au centre culturel “Al Schmelz” à Steinfort. Le 22 avril 2023 les artistes seront invités à une séance de présentation facultative de leur projet devant le jury. Le jury choisira parmi les projets remis, l’œuvre à réaliser. Le samedi après-midi, 22 avril 2023 le jury présentera le gagnant du concours qui va être pris sous contrat.

Le jury sera composé de 7 membres :

• 1 repésentant de la Commune de Steinfort
• 1 membre de la Commission Culturelle de la Commune de Steinfort
• 1 membre du Syndicat d’Initiative de Steinfort
• 1 membre ou délégué de Aktikulti asbl
• 3 artistes professionnels

Installation:

Les travaux d’installation de la sculpture sur le site devront s’achever pour fin avril 2024.

The Municipality of Steinfort, in conjunction with Aktikulti a.s.b.l. has the pleasure to announce the launch of the sixth sculpture competition.

Place:

The sculpture will be placed in the activity zone of the western region at Grass which is located in the municipality of Steinfort near the Belgian border.

Subject, material:

The piece of art will have to combine the historical, cultural and natural aspects of the village of Grass, the municipality and the region.

The concept of the piece of art will have to be compatible with being exhibited in the open air and therefore entirely weather resistant.

Budget:

A budget of € 30.000 will be made available to the winner of the competition, by the Municipality of Steinfort, in order to cover the costs of the material, time and transport, including pedestal and fixation. 

This sum will be paid in two parts:

• 50% at the beginning of the work
• 50% upon completion of the work

The Municipality of Steinfort will support the artist for the emplacement of the sculpture by providing all the necessary labour and technical expertise from its own resources.

The artist must agree to respect the contract and a mutually agreed time frame between him and the Commune.

Form of the project:

All participating artists will be required to present a detailed dossier with the following:

• Detailed plans of the sculpture and how it will be positioned on the designated site
• Precise information as to how it will be fixed to the ground
• Dimensions of the sculpture
• Project Plan of the sculpture (format DIN A1)
• The necessary utilities required i.e. electricity, water etc.
• A model of the proposed work of art

The dossier and the model must be handed in at the cultural centre «Al Schmelz» in Steinfort by the 20th of April 2023

The artists must pick up their models at the end of the exhibition of the projects.

If the artist wishes his model to be returned by post, the costs need to be paid in advance and the organiser will not accept responsibility, should any damage occur during transit.

The Jury and presentation of the project:

All the projects will be exhibited in the cultural centre «Al Schmelz» in Steinfort on the 22nd and 23rd of April 2023.

On Saturday morning, 22nd of April 2023, the artists will be invited to present their works to the jury if they so wish.  This however is not obligatory. On Saturday afternoon, the 22nd of April 2023, the jury will decide which project has won and which artist is being taken under contract.

The Jury will be composed of seven members made up of the following:

• A representative of the Commune of Steinfort
• A member of the Cultural Commission of Steinfort
• A member of the «Syndicat d’Initiative» of Steinfort
• A member or delegate of Aktikulti asbl
• Three professional artists

Installation:

The works involved in installing the sculpture at the site must be completed by the end of April 2024
